This Is As Political As I Get

I figured I'd better post this before the results of tonight are announced.  No matter who you voted for.  No matter who you believe is the better option.  I pray you find rest in these words found in the Bible:

"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established.  The authorities that exist have been established by God."
Romans 13:1

God Bless

Absolutely... and as I told many this evening, no matter who is elected, the God will be the same tomorrow, as He was yesterday and today.

If He would Act The Part in a Home Video ! We'd all be amused , if it ended up on Shustube ! Ha-Ha-Ha ! I can get You Back- For not reading a Comment of Mine, I Know- You Didn't! I decided to investigate and lo and behold i find Rescue the Perishing, Healer, May Jesus Christ Be Praised, and Jesus I Come!!! I'm sure you already know that I bought them and I like 'em

This should hold me over until Fall 09 =)

Aaron, glad you arrived home, Safe & Sound . Our Prayers follow You , wherever you go. Never discuss politics, Religion, or Wars/Conflicts, Racism,or Any Controversially Hot Topics---it is >>> Always Too Sensitive ! You are Wise To " AVOID " It ,and Staying Cautionary ! But, what kind of Responses, were you expecting to see Here ? Hitler and Stalin were not put in their leadership positions by God , misled people put them there. They were wicked leaders - and God never would have put them in leadership roles nor Osama Bin Ladin , either !

hey, anonymous,

i actually don't expect Any responses, let alone a certain kind. in this blog entry, I found comfort in the Bible's declaration that all authorities are established by God. If you are implying that only 'some' or 'good' authorities are established by God (as opposed to "all"), I'm sure we'd love to hear your thoughts.

no expectations,
aaron

Thanks Aaron, for responding here , but because I've met You ,in Person , I'd much rather talk to You about The CREATIVE Process of SONG - Writing More Than Any Other Topic ,for that is my real passion ,and has been for all of my life...i'm very sorry for all those " Rude Criticisms " you and your fellow-songwriter-friends have had to Endure . Really, you didn't deserve it ! Lately lots of us have sought and found COMFORT, REST & Solace in the Scriptures ,even those of us disappointed in the Outcome in the Presidential Election ! SO glad we got to Talk , here ,together, but I'm not in my element, unless it involves God or MUSIC ! The Bright SPOT of my Existence, little brother, Aaron ! At least we comforted each other ! From : >>>
( anonymous ) With Love in JESUS ! ( LOVED CHATTING With YOU !) No Expectations , on my part, either, and We all will P_R_A_Y For OUR TROOPS<>

GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS & LEADERS ! Amen! God Bless & Protect them ALL !

Hey, sorry it's taken me so long to finally get around to posting the question on here that i was asking you on MySpace [this is Joanna].
What I was asking you, was kinda of a challange, but I think as christains we all like challanges? Eh? =D
If you honestly beleive, like you stated in this blog, that God puts in power ALL those who are our leaders of the country, then why do you vote?
Simple question really. Why do you vote? Why does anyone vote? God is in charge...
Take for instance, say someone voted for McCain in this election,.. Well, God chose Obama.
Did or did not that person act /against/ God by voting for someone God did NOT chose?

Props to you for asking quite possibly the Biggest question that can be asked in this life. I’ll probably cover my entire response with this: “it truly is a mystery beyond my comprehension” But I’ll give you my thoughts at least.

I’ll start by saying that I Do honestly believe what I typed in this post. The reason being: I quoted Scripture. I’ll give you that I didn’t use the original Greek. I used the NIV in English, which was written on a High School level (so I’ve been taught). The NASB which is alleged to be the closest to the original Greek says this: “Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.” So whether I understand that or not, yes, I do believe it. I’ve chosen to believe the Bible and everything in it. Whether I ‘like’ it or not.

So, why do I vote? Great question. I think for the same reason I eat. The same reason I dated. The same reason I got a job. If I don’t eat, I starve. But God is still in control. If I don’t date, but marry the first person to say ‘ok’, I may have a more difficult marriage than otherwise. But God’s still in control, right? If I don’t get a job, I probably won’t make any money, but should I not be comfortable sitting on the couch and letting God do His thing? I’ve heard that line of thinking (where my mind often goes unfortunately) is called Fatalism. Saying, “God’s gonna do His thing, so why bother?” But I believe that God wants to use us to accomplish His will. Another mystery. I don’t know how He does that. Glad I’m not God.

I know that people pray for years for loved ones to be healed from cancer and they still die. Should they not have prayed? I think so. I think prayer may have brought themselves closer to God. Their faith in God may have brought an onlooker to Come to faith. Who Knows what God’s motives are? Not me. ☺

Keep wrestling. Keep asking questions. I do. I do not pretend to have all the answers. …I just looked up “predestination and fatalism” on google and found this: www.bloomingtonrpchurch.org/refdocpre/15.htm It’s a bit ‘heady’ but you can handle that. This is obviously biased from the reformed perspective, so keep that in mind, and I’m not saying this page will answer the world’s biggest questions, but it has some good parts. It even talks about eating and not eating! How about that! ☺ I liked this sentence in the 3rd to last paragraph. “The Christian can trust God because he knows He is all-wise, loving, just and holy. He sees the end from the beginning, so that there is no reason to become panicky when things seem to be going against us." That is all I meant to encourage when quoting Romans in this post.

I hope these meager thoughts of mine encourage you to continue pursuing Truth and just maybe I was able to win back an ounce of respect for my ministry ;)

Thank you for replying and I just want to say there was never any respect lost for your ministry in the first place, I just wanted to ask.
I love the music you sing - it is very insperational and ENCOURAGING to pursue a closer life with Christ.
Thank you for that and again, thank you for responding to my question.

skycowgirl said...

Yeah... when I read your reply I didnt notice anything that was unkind in response, so I was blissfully unaware of any of that that you were saying until you mentioned the confusion.....
It's funny you should mention that actually, b/c my parents and I were planning to come to your's and Andrew Carlton's concert Thursday evening in Bangor! I have a bit of a head cold right now, but I'm hoping it will be gone tomorrow so I can still come. I really am looking forward to the music - so I hope I'm well enough. God bless you and thank you for coming to the state of Maine even if I'm not able to come see it after all!
